From the Pit: LoK Merchandise - Statuesque

This is the limited edition Raziel statue produced by Oxmox for Eidos Germany in 1999 as promotion for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. Without a doubt one of the rarest and most expensive pieces in the LoK merchandise collection. The figure stands 30cm tall, weighs in at 2kg, is cast in polyresin and comes with attachable wings and a wooden spear (and glue that has probably long since dried up).

The statue and its box have a number of interesting features: Raziel is seen standing upon a block from the Necropolis with an icon of the Soul Reaver carved into it - presumably representing one of the first ‘Reaver sealed doors’ seen in the series. The box contains several renders that are unique to the German market and not seen elsewhere. The spear held by Raziel is crafted from carved wood and is rather more fragile than the rest of the piece - it appears to be based upon the design of the ‘Spear’ weapons found at the entrance to the Sanctuary of the Clans and featured in promotional renders and the Soul Reaver comic.

The German strategy guide features a small section on the creation of this statue, including a picture of an early prototype holding the ‘Dart’ weapon which was frequently used in betas and demos but only made a single appearance in the Ruined City in the final game.
